Our mission is to help UNIFY and build up the Body of Christ in the Greater Nashville Area. We aim to accomplish this by providing avenues of communication which connect the entire local body, without compartmentalizing groups of believers per denomination. The focus of this community will continually highlight elements and events which are open to the entire body.

The structure of this website is organized into these primary areas:

HOME - Articles and Videos Section: The top left column on our home page featues a navigation widget, linking the article and video content featured on our site. All content in this area is hand picked by our leadership from submissions & posts throughout this community. Learn how to submit an article, poem, or video. Thanks to this new software suite, we are able to "promote" (vBulletin terminology) any blog or forum post into the article section and feature it on our home page. Registered users are welcome to comment on all article and video content, keeping our core values in mind. Below is an overview of some of the Article and Video categories we host in this section:FORUM: This is the most interactive area of our site, where all registerd users (in good standing) can start their own threads and reply to posts without prior moderation. Below is an overview of some of the parent categories we host in this section:
  • Website Administration: This is our business area - detailing who we are, why we are here, what our rules are, and also where you can provide feedback about our site.
  • Community Discussions: Here you can discuss books, local events, share your testimony, prayer & praise reports, etc...
  • Stages of Life Discussions: This is a discussion area for specific phases of life, including being single, married, parenting, career, school, and adolescents.
  • Equipping the Saints & Speaking LIFE: This is an area where you can submit content for consideration in our main CMS Articles section (featured on our HOME page). Even if your article is not selected to be "promoted" into the CMS Articles section, as long as it adheres to our content guidelines, we will not remove it from this forum, and the community can still view it and correspond with you as the author.
  • Poetry that Points Toward God: This is an area where you can submit content for consideration in our main CMS Poetry section (featured on our HOME page). Even if your poem is not selected to be "promoted" into the CMS Poetry section, as long as it adheres to our content guidelines, we will not remove it from this forum, and the community can still view it and correspond with you as the author.
  • Video Submissions: Where you can submit a video to share with the community.
  • Pass-It-On (Resource Sharing): This is an area where you can loan and borrow exceptional Christian media with one another, without charge.
BLOGS: Each registered user at NashvilleChristian.com has the opportunity to maintain their own personal blog, hosted here on our website. The advantage of this over other blog platforms, is of course the community aspect. This is not us speaking into our typical sphere of influence, but rather us speaking to believers throughout the city of Nashville. With this privelage comes responsibility. All that we ask in return, is that you speak LIFE to your brothers and sisters in Christ!

DIRECTORY: Our local ministry & business directory, contains contact information and links to area resources. This interface features automatic mapping to local churches and businesses (where an address has been provided), a link to the organizations website, direct podcast, webcast, and rss feeds (where available), office hours, service times, and any additional information the organization cares to provide. This is a really COOL feature! Below is an overview of some of the categories we host in our directory:GROUPS: This is an area where you and your people group can find your own private space in our network, which YOU CAN CONTROL however you like. Whether that be a church, a denomination, an organization, a home group, cell group, mens group, womens group, youth group, etc... This can be a group that is open and visible to all, or one where you can hand pick the members, and only those whom you permit can view your content. You can elect to have you own private calendar, with events specific to and solely for your organization. This is the one area where content doesn't need to be open to the entire body of Christ. This is about your particular people group, organizing and coordinating communications (internal and/or external), and planning group events. We, at NashvilleChristian.com, are especially interested in developing this service to our community. Please notify us, via the "Contact Us" link in the bottom right corner the page, should you require assistance or like an explanation of how we can help you utilize this feature to serve your organization.
Event Calendar: This calendar is dedicated to local Christian events which are open to the ENTIRE Nashville body of Christ. Maps to the host location, event times and information, print flyers, all can be attached through this interface. We also offer organization specific calendars, to help specific people groups organize Christian events which are not open to the entire body.

Fun Stuff: We also host "FUN" features, such as arcade games where members can compete, a ChatBox for registered users, and photo albums where we can share glimpses of our lives with each other.
We invite you to join us in our mission! This is absolutely FOR the community, BY the community. We invite you not only to read and comment on the posts that are written here, but if you are a Christian, we invite you to ask God what He would have you share to help build up and encourage your brothers and sisters in the Nashville area.

We ask that all content on our website adhere to one simple standard, that it build up the body of Christ. Debates and arguments have no place here. Anything that is perceived to tear down the body will be deleted without further notification. This doesn't mean that you have to write "fluff" at all. Actually please don't - authenticity is HIGHLY encouraged. What you write can be very real, gut level, and show your struggle in the flesh; however, at the end of the day, you need to be building the body and leading us toward Christ. It's as simple as that.

These community forums are intended to focus on speaking INTO the Christian life. Articles and discussions that will encourage, teach, love, and lead Christians toward our Savior. We also want to include writings that just make good sense and will help encourage and teach us to prosper in these "earth suits". Articles on topics such as health, nutrition, exercise, finance, etc... are welcome here without the need for Christian-ese. Again our goal is to build-up the body of Christ, in every way.
