

Colossians 3: 2 ESV Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
I was thinking about my husband and me watching television in the evening and some mornings. We enjoy reality shows and keeping up with local and world news. Many times I wonder and ask as I did this morning, “Lord is this alright with you? I heard clearly, “Set your mind on things above, not on earth.”
What flashes through my mind as I write is listening to an
Mark 1: 35 NIV Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
Is God first in your day? I’ve got a confession to make. I woke early but went right to the kitchen to bake homemade sweet breads. My day starts with quiet time with the Lord in His Word and prayer but not this day. I missed that time to hear God in the morning.
It was after midnight when I finally took time for prayer and
Psalm 16: 11 NIV You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
No alarm this particular January morning, but awakened by the voice of the Lord asking, “Would you like to get up with Me?” Yes Lord, I’d be glad to, I said.
It was still dark as I walked through the house but there was a reflection from night lights outside the windows so I was able to walk without stumbling.
Sincere, pure devotion to Jesus Christ
No matter where you’ve been in life
No matter what you have done
it’s about today into the future
that matters from now on.
Be true to Christ
who died for you.
His love is everlasting.
Not a day will go by,
for His arms open wide
to pour out His blessings on you.
Believe and receive all He has for you.
Come. He waits for you to relate to Him.
Open His Word, let Him speak to you,
