A bundle of appetites. That’s what I am as a bodily entity. This fleshly tent in which I abide is intent on and, unfortunately, often content with finding things that satisfy it, please it and make it feel comfy-cozy. Any twinge of displeasure or dissatisfaction is immediately addressed sub-consciously with, “What can I do to alleviate this abomination?” That thought arises no matter how small the discomfort may be. Or even if it is not discomfort…even if it is just a thought like, “I want something pleasing at this moment,” which is actually often the follow-up to feeling discomfort in some area, though we may not connect it in such a way at the time, because often the pleasure we choose has no logical connection with the discomfort we are feeling. This is a commonly known phenomenon. For example, I may come home from work feeling tired and somewhat disgruntled, thinking my boss is unfair or my co-workers are untruthful, but instead of quitting my job or looking for a new one or trying to come to terms with the situation, I eat a package of M&Ms and watch a funny sitcom ...

I struggled for years with the relationship between my "calling" and my "occupation". Growing up, I had always viewed them to be one in the same; thinking that one day my "calling" would provide for me financially, thereby replacing my "occupation". Yet I continued to have absolutely no vision for how these two major arteries of my life would intersect. For many years I was aware of a giftedness that I have in writing as well as a passion for speaking the truth and exhorting my friends in their faith, yet I was unsure how I would or should use this to the glory of God. At the same time I was confused about the many entrepreneurial aspirations that I've had all my life. ...

There is no mediocrity in God. We have been created in His image and likeness; therefore, there should be no mediocrity in us.

When we accepted Christ as our lord and master, we were born again and through that rebirth, all the mediocrity of our past life should have died with our old self. I believe that many of you have not come to terms with the fact that God almighty has birthed in you a spirit of excellence. It is obvious that you have not tapped into this yet because; some of you are still operating with a spirit of mediocrity in your ministries, businesses and life. It is as if you feel mediocrity is as good as it gets.

God has imparted greatness in you. It is just a matter of tapping into what is there. We often look at others and admire their gifts and talents thinking that we don’t have any. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. God has gifted you and anointed you for purpose and destiny. ...

What does the phrase “A person of good character” mean to you? Do you immediately think honest, good upbringing, person of good morals, and a person of integrity?

The first thing that comes to my mind is a person with Godly morals and integrity. There is a difference in good morals and Godly morals. You see, the dictionary of today describes morals as: of or relating to principles of right and wrong in behavior.

My problem as it relates to this definition without the word (Godly) principles is: what is determining whether or not your behavior is right or wrong. In today’s society of “if it feels good do it” mentality, what may be right in your mind, may be completely wrong or an abomination to God. ...

Success means different things to different people. For some it is the acquiring of material things. For others it is climbing the corporate ladder. For many, it is their family life, the rearing of children and successful marriages.

I personally like noted best selling author John Maxwell's description – "Success is a journey".

No matter what you achieve in life, you will always want more. This is why I believe that success can only truly be realized when you have carried out your God given purpose all the way to your divine destiny. And if that isn't taking a journey, then please tell me what is. ...
