I told my puppy yesterday, "You can have all the privileges that you can HANDLE." I wonder if God is saying the same thing to ME.
In truth, I would love to let my puppy have the run of the whole house, to come, go, and do as she pleases. In reality though, she can't be trusted to make the right choices. "Right" being defined as not harmful to herself or to her family.
Her family consists of three bunny brothers, a birdie brother, a mommy and a daddy.
In this phase of her life, her brothers look suspiciously like chew toys, so gates go up and her world gets smaller. I tell her, "Your world will get as small as you need." Are our lives the same way?
Now lets take her bunny brothers for example, I would love nothing more than to leave their cages open day and night and let them dance and play throughout the house continuously. The sad reality is though, that they too can not be trusted. They will chew on furniture, books, remote controls, electrical cords, and about anything that looks fun to chew on. Are we the same way?
What blessings would God really LOVE to give us, but that we just can't be trusted with?
