  1. Above

Colossians 3: 2 ESV Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

I was thinking about my husband and me watching television in the evening and some mornings. We enjoy reality shows and keeping up with local and world news. Many times I wonder and ask as I did this morning, “Lord is this alright with you? I heard clearly, “Set your mind on things above, not on earth.”

What flashes through my mind as I write is listening to an ...

In reality, I’ve learned two families emerge when a man and woman marry. Let’s take a look.

  3. Keep God First

Mark 1: 35 NIV Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

Is God first in your day? I’ve got a confession to make. I woke early but went right to the kitchen to bake homemade sweet breads. My day starts with quiet time with the Lord in His Word and prayer but not this day. I missed that time to hear God in the morning.

It was after midnight when I finally took time for prayer and ...
  4. A New Year – New Beginnings

Psalm 16: 11 NIV You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

No alarm this particular January morning, but awakened by the voice of the Lord asking, “Would you like to get up with Me?” Yes Lord, I’d be glad to, I said.

It was still dark as I walked through the house but there was a reflection from night lights outside the windows so I was able to walk without stumbling. ...

No matter where you’ve been in life
No matter what you have done
it’s about today into the future
    that matters from now on.

    for His arms open wide

    Many waters cannot quench love;

“Love has been called the most effective
motivational force in all the world.
When love is at work in us,
it is remarkable how giving and forgiving,

  7. Thoughts for the Day - UNIQUE VOICES

I Cor. 14: 10 KJV There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.

God has given you a unique voice. No one has a voice just like you.

Think about significant voices in your life. Some voices you would miss if they were no longer in your life. On the other hand, there are voices you may prefer not to hear and attempt to snuff them out. Whatever the case, everyone has a unique voice.
